Dumbo from the Lenox Disney Showcase Collection, hand-painted ivory-colored fine bone china with 24 karat gold accents. The flying elephant caught mid-leap with both ears spread wide, his gold-banded collar and the little cap sculpted on top of his head, with Timothy Q. Mouse riding up behind the cap. The ears are the tell on this piece: they are thrown out full width as a single thin sweep of china, which is why the sculpt reads as flight rather than a standing elephant, and why it is unusually fragile for its size. The base is marked Dumbo under the Disney Showcase Collection and Lenox wreath marks, shown in the final photo.
